How to avoid this unpleasant optical illusion

This week I thought I’d “save myself the time of writing” by doing some video content instead. Turns out video is even more labour-intensive! Who knew? (Video people knew.)

Regardless, I’m pleased as punch to present the first of several Video Conferencing Style Tips, this one about avoiding the jarring optical illusion called Moire. Most of us aren’t used to dressing for the camera, so I hope you’ll find this useful!

Double-header Style Stream this week! Wednesday night I had a great chat with Eva Camille Roethler about her work designing Augmented Reality clothing, which you can watch here. Then Saturday I watched a few docs about the production of Ikat cloth, a textile with a 5,000 year history. It’s incredible to see the work that goes into these fabrics, both the creativity and skill in designing them and the physical labour of their creation.
